UK fire safety legislation changed in October 2006. The Fire Precautions Act 1971 and the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 were changed, along with many other fire safety regulations. Fire certificates have been scrapped and employers are now solely responsible for fire safety within their workplaces. One business that is ideally placed to help business owners and managers fulfil these new responsibilities is AssessCo.
AssessCo provides high quality fire safety training and fire risk assessments based on a wealth of industry experience. Adrian Ormerod, who established AssessCo says:
Because we advise on fire safety equipment but do not sell it, clients can rest assured that all of our advice is independent and not sales driven. We have no affiliation with any particular companies or manufacturers so we only have our clients’ best interests at heart.
Direct, relevant experience is fundamental to the qualities that AssessCo can offer clients. Adrian worked for 20 years within the fire protection industry, ranging from service engineer to almost 10 years as a training instructor with one of the UK’s largest fire protection companies.
This wide range of knowledge and experience enables us to provide clients with a comprehensive service enabling them to fulfil their legal obligations as an employer.
We train staff about fire safety and life safety within the workplace and, of course, at home as most fires are at night. Any of our training can be conducted on an individual basis if required and priced accordingly and we can also assist clients with conducting and observing fire evacuation drills.
